Annette is an experienced tech, fintech and payments laywer based at Bird & Bird’s office in Copenhagen with extensive expertise within the tech industry and in-depth payment industry knowledge.

Annette advises on regulatory issues impacting the payments sector in particular, including PSD, Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS), the Interchange Fee Regulation (IFR), the European Banking Authority (EBA) guidelines on outsourcing etc. She advises on licensing requirements and applications for payment service providers including the new license requirements for account information service providers (AISP) and payment initiation service providers (PISP). On the tech side, she advises in drafting and negotiating IT contracts including in particular SaaS contracts, consultancy contracts, outsourcing contracts and licensing terms. Additionally she is passionate about and advise on new technology such as distributed ledger technology (DLT), artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data and the legal aspects associated with the use hereof.

She has previously worked as general counsel for Saxo Payments Banking Circle and thereby has first-hand experience with the contractual and regulatory challenges of taking a fintech to the next level. Before that she worked as a tech lawyer at a large law firm in Copenhagen.
