Fexco Group shortlisted in the Employer Category at the upcoming EWPN Awards

May 2019| Fexco has today reaffirmed its commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the payments industry by becoming the newest corporate member of the European Women Payments Network (EWPN). The Network is a not-for-profit Pan-European community that strives to create more opportunities for women and minorities, as well as being a champion for a more diverse and inclusive payments industry for all.

Membership of the network facilitates co-learning, knowledge sharing, mentoring and networking between members, both corporate and individual, with the overarching objective of highlighting the importance and value of a diverse workforce to companies operating in the payments space.

Today’s news cements Fexco’s position as an international champion of diversity having only last week been shortlisted in the upcoming EWPN Awards which will take place as part of the annual EWPN conference on 4 and 5 June 2019 in Amsterdam alongside Money20/20 Europe.

Fexco, nominated in the Employer category, was shortlisted based on positive workplace policies and the environment of the organisation meeting criteria including; flexibility at work, especially for working mothers, promoting diversity, inclusion and gender parity on opportunity and reward, and demonstrating support for females through leadership and/or mentoring opportunities and programmes.

The third annual EWPN Conference and Awards bring together finance sector professionals from all over Europe. Interactive panels, deep-dive workshops, and plenary sessions with industry female leaders will provide the forum for debate and discussion.

Attending the EWPN Conference and Awards from Fexco is Helen Rea, Senior Manager Global Vendor Relationships and co-founder of the Fexco Women in Payments Network. Speaking about Fexco’s commitment to the network Helen commented:

‘Only in its infancy, the EWPN is already a hugely successful network counting companies including Paysafe, MasterCard, PayPal as well as Fexco among its members. The network itself strives to promote diversity and opportunity for women and minorities in the payments industry while simultaneously celebrating those champions who help to bring those opportunities to fruition. I am delighted that Fexco can now count itself among those members and supporters of what is a critical component of the future success of the fintech and payments sectors.’

Denis Cleary, CEO of Fexco’s Payments & FX Division added:

‘Becoming part of this key network demonstrates Fexco’s commitment to promoting diversity both internally and across the wider fintech and payments industry. I am delighted that Fexco has been shortlisted in the employer category at the upcoming EWPN Awards, further reflecting the company’s ambition to create a more inclusive industry.
‘I want to thank my colleagues for their dedication to this important work in the foundation of the Fexco Women in Payments Network.’

Martha Mghendi-Fisher, founder of the EWPN commented:

‘We are delighted to welcome Fexco to the EWPN as our newest corporate member. Fexco’s values and ambition to create a more diverse and inclusive workplace and wider payments industry are reflected in our own and I greatly look forward to working together more closely as we drive the agenda of opportunity for women in the fintech and payments sectors.’
