About the keynote: “Are we celebrating the wrong leaders?“
We often praise leaders who step in during a crisis with bold decisions and dramatic actions. But what about the leaders who quietly prevent disasters before they happen? Historian and author Martin Gutmann challenges us to rethink leadership by looking at those who lead with foresight and strategy, rather than just reacting to problems. Using the example of explorer Ernest Shackleton—famous for both his leadership and his near disasters—Gutmann explores what truly makes a great leader.
